Conservation Commission

Mission

The Conservation Commission is responsible for the protection, promotion and development of the city's natural resources and implementation of environmental protection regulations in the city.

The Commission considers applications for Notice of Intent (NOI), Request for Determination (RFD), Abbreviated Notice of Resource Area Delineation (ANRAD), and other matters.

The deadline for submission of applications/forms is three weeks prior to the meeting date.  Please check posted meeting schedule for actual date.

Applications and forms are to be submitted to Barbara Foley in the Office of Community & Economic Development on the second floor of 62 Friend Street.  Applicants bear the responsibility and cost of posting legal notices in a local newspaper no less than five days prior to the meeting, mailing notifications to abutters (per certified list of abutters obtained from Assessors Office) via certified mail with return receipt requested. Applicant shall submit copy of legal notice from newspaper and return receipt cards from mailing to the Commission at the meeting.  For more information about the application process in Amesbury visit the Office of Community & Economic Development Homepage.
