Mission

The Amesbury Cultural Council helps foster and promote the cultural enjoyment and enrichment of our citizens through local and regional arts and culture events and programs. We are the town's Local Cultural Council (LCC) as defined by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Visit our dedicated Amesbury Cultural Council website to learn more about what we do as well as local cultural resources and attractions. Or, follow us on Facebook or Twitter to stay in the loop on local cultural happenings and events.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Cultural Grants
The Amesbury Cultural Council solicits grant requests, selects grant recipients and awards grant funds made available annually from the Massachusetts Cultural Council for the funding of artistic and cultural projects and programs in and around Amesbury.  Note: LCC grant applications are available at the MA Cultural Council website; the annual postmark deadline is October 15

Studio Tour
The Cultural Council also organizes the annual Amesbury Open Studio Tour, typically held each November.

Chain Bridge Art Collection
Amesbury Cultural Council is also the owner of the Chain Bridge Collection, purchased in 1999 and containing primarily framed wall art images of the bridge. Recent exhibitions have been held at the Custom House Maritime Museum and Newburyport and the Jon Mooers Art Gallery in Amesbury. We are in the process of deciding on the best public use of this lovely collection.

When do we meet?
The Cultural Council typically meets the first Tuesday of the month. Please email amesburycc@gmail.com to confirm upcoming meeting dates and locations.
