Programs & Initiatives

Cultural Grants

The Amesbury Cultural Council solicits grant requests, selects grant recipients and awards grant funds made available annually from the Massachusetts Cultural Council for the funding of artistic and cultural projects and programs in and around Amesbury.

Studio Tour

The Cultural Council also organizes the annual Amesbury Open Studios and More Tour.

Art at City Hall

The City of Amesbury welcomes the Cultural Council to hold a quarterly art exhibit in the lobby of City Hall. Visit our website for more information and to learn when our next call for artists will be.

Public Art Initiatives

The Cultural Council partners with the City of Amesbury to enhance and enliven public spaces with art. For more information and photos of recent projects, visit our Public Art Initiatives page.

Poet Laureate

In partnership with the Whittier Home, the Amesbury Cultural Council supports our local Poet Laureate program. The position is selected by a committee of peers for a two-year role hosting remote and in-person events throughout the year. Many of those events take place during Poetry Month every April.
