UPDATE: The City of Amesbury will waive all interest and fees pertaining to excise tax, personal property, real estate, sewer and water bills that have a due date beginning March 11th, and through 7 days after the Commonwealth’s State of Emergency has been lifted. Tax Bill Information
Real estate and personal property bills run on a fiscal year basis and are due quarterly. The due dates are as follows:
|1st Quarter||Due August 1st||Period 7/1 - 9/30|
|2nd Quarter||Due November 1st||Period 10/1 - 12/31|
|3rd Quarter||Due February 1st||Period 1/1 - 3/31|
|4th Quarter||Due May 1st||Period 4/1 - 6/30|
Real estate and personal property tax bills are mailed twice each year, once at the end of June and once at the end of December.
If you are a property owner who does not receive a tax bill, please contact the Treasurer/Collectors office at 978-388-8105 and a duplicate bill will be mailed to you.
Any tax bill not paid by the end of the 4th quarter, May 1st, will go on demand. There will be a $5.00 demand fee and interest added to any outstanding tax amount.
