The Office of Community and Economic Development works to foster economic vitality, to preserve and enhance neighborhoods, quality of life and the environment, and to promote equity and opportunity for all residents of Amesbury.
Our Department is committed to balancing development with the environmental, social and economic goals of the City. Combined, our staff represents over 60 years of experience. Our dedicated team is currently assisting with development, review, and implementation of the projects listed on the Conservation Commission and Planning Board pages. We are proud of our ability to manage the demands of a constant development stream and while creating opportunities through innovative local, state and national programs.
The OCED staff manages the permitting processes for the Planning Board, Conservation Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. We also staff multiple committees to assist in project management and implementation.
