Mayor Kassandra Gove, with the approval of the City Council, is establishing an Amesbury Charter Review Committee. This Committee, comprised of seven (7) Amesbury residents, will be reviewing the existing City Charter and considering changes. Their report and recommendations will then go to the City Council and Mayor for further action and any proposed changes will ultimately be submitted to the Legislature and finally the voters of Amesbury for their vote to approve or reject.

This Committee is expected to begin meeting (evenings) in mid-April for approximately 9-12 months on a biweekly or monthly basis. Applicants should have a broad interest in local government in Amesbury, but may also bring varied experience in other fields (previous volunteer activity, business background, other types of government experience).

Residents interested in being considered for appointment should complete the City’s Application for Appointed Positions online or mailed to the Mayor's Office. The deadline for applications is Friday, April 3rd. For any questions about this Committee, please contact Paul Fahey, Chief of Staff, Office of the Mayor at 978-388-8121 or
