Please be aware that Mayor Ken Gray has declared a snow emergency for the City of Amesbury effective Monday, March 12, at 11pm through Wednesday, March 14, at 5am. Should the storm be more severe than anticipated the Snow Emergency may be extended.
All Amesbury residents are reminded that during a declared snow emergency, parking on any public roadways is prohibited. Residents should move any vehicles to designated public parking areas for the duration of the snow emergency. This will allow Public Works personnel to clear snow and allow for the movement of Emergency Vehicles.
Parking to accommodate essential services and shopping in the downtown area is available in area parking lots. Any vehicle illegally parked or hampering snow removal operations will be ticketed and could be towed at the owner’s expense.
Residents are urged not to call Police, Fire or 911 for storm information, as calls to these officials should be for emergency requests only. Non-emergency calls regarding the storm should be directed to 978-388-8155. Residents are urged to listen to radio and television reports for any updates, extensions, or cancellations of this snow emergency declaration, school closings and other public information.
Also as a result of the incoming storm, there will be no trash collection on March 13th and City offices will be closed.
