Amesbury/Salisbury Trail Connector @ I-95
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation – Highway Division (MassDOT) is proposing the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle path connecting Elm Street and Rabbit Road in Salisbury. The project consists of approximately 3800 of trail, a stairway from the Garrison trail on the Whittier Bridge to the Amesbury Visitor's Center and improvements to that facility.
The project seeks to improve the safety of bicycle and pedestrian movements by providing an alternative transportation facility along the Heritage Park waterfront. The creation of this facility will be a step towards expanding the Riverwalk towards downtown and future regional connections. The proposed project consists of construction a 10-ft wide shared use path with a hot mix asphalt trail surface
