G. Mello Disposal Transfer Station
Located at 203 E. Main St., Georgetown, MA  (978) 352-9948. Construction material, furniture, empty propane tanks, metal, white goods, bulk items, additional waste and recycling, etc.  They will not take tires or oil paint. CHECKS NOT ACCEPTED. Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express accepted. Call for pricing.

Allied Computer Brokers, Inc.

The Amesbury Lions Club holds a recycling event every spring and fall. Check their event calendar for details or call (978) 388-0327.

Best Buy
For a $25 fee, Best Buy accepts tube TVs smaller than 32" and flat panel TVs (LCD, Plasma, LED) smaller than 50". Limit two TVs per household per day. Call for more information; Portsmouth, NH (603) 431-1269; Salem, NH (603) 890-9002; Danvers, MA (978) 774-9494.

Nichols Inc.
Located on Railroad Avenue, Amesbury, MA, 978-388-9639. Any non-Freon containing appliance such as washers, dryers, dishwashers, metal items, treadmills, microwaves and grills without propane tanks, etc. Any item containing Freon must show proof of its removal by providing a sticker or paperwork supplied by a licensed heating and cooling technician, in order to be accepted.

City of Amesbury White Goods Collection
Stoves, hot water heaters, dishwashers, dryers, washers, microwaves, air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers. A $20 fee applies to items without Freon and there is a $30 fee for items with Freon. Stickers can be purchased at the Department of Public Works, 39 South Hunt Road. This collection happens the first Tuesday of the month in July, September, November, January, March and May. 

Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Must be clean and in proven working condition, no more than 12 years old. Refrigerators, freezers, stoves, dishwaters, microwaves, washer / dryer, air conditions. Also accepts athletic equipment, household items like doors, flooring, cabinets, countertops, plumbing and more. Visit their website for a complete list and delivery / pickup instructions.

CAI Amesury accepts donations of clean, in-season clothing for men and children only. Items may be donated during business hours only and are given to clients at no cost. 44A Friend Street, Amesbury, MA.

Leeward Light
Donate good condition clothing, must not be stained, ripped, damaged, worn out, faded or wet. Clothes must be free from odors like smoke, pets, moth balls or mildew. Donate during their business hours, 126 Bridge Road, Salisbury, MA.

City of Amesbury Bulk Item Pick-Up
One bulk item may be placed curbside per week per household with a bulk sticker. Bulk items include chairs, mattresses, box springs, dressers, sofas, tables, wood cabinets, toilets, sinks, and rugs. Bulk stickers can be purchased for $5 each at the Department of Public Works (39 South Hunt Road) or City Hall (Treasurer's Office). Cash or personal checks only.

Car Batteries
Napa Auto Parts, Macy Street, Rte. 110, Amesbury, MA, (978) 388-3070. Will take used batteries. The casing must be intact and it cannot be leaking.

Paint Cans
Empty latex paint cans can be left out with your regular trash, with the lid off. Kitty litter can help with fast drying.

Household Hazardous Waste
Certain items which cannot be disposed of in trash or recycling can be brought to a hazardous household waste day. Amesbury residents can attend waste days in other communities during non-resident hours.
