Celebrate Earth Hour in Amesbury!

Saturday, March 28, 2026

Earth Hour is a global movement that encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to turn off non-essential lights for one hour as a symbol of commitment to the planet. Held annually, it’s a simple but powerful way to raise awareness about climate change, energy conservation, and protecting our natural world. To celebrate Earth Hour this year, Amesbury is hosting a special stargazing nature hike at Woodsom Farm (approximately 1 mile).

Woodsom Earth Hour Trail Outline. Map of the trail.

Event Details:

  • Participants should park and meet at the parking lot.
  • The group will hike the trail along the edge of the great swamp together up to the top of the hill.
  • Once at the top, enjoy a peaceful stargazing experience under the night sky.
  • After the hike, warm up with a complimentary hot chocolate.

If you can’t make the hike, here are some other ways you can celebrate:

  • Turn off your lights and unplug electronics for one hour
  • Enjoy a candlelit dinner with family or friends
  • Step outside and take in the night sky from your backyard
  • Read a book or play games without screens
  • Make a pledge to adopt a more sustainable habit in your daily life

Woodsom has been quite wet as of lately so please be reminded to wear appropriate footwear and dress for a chilly evening. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
