Facilities

Battis Farm is a multi-use space, with trails, open space and a community garden. It's a year-round favorite with trails that can be used in all seasons for hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Traversing the trail system through Battis Farm is to experience diversity rivaled by few conservation lands. Acting as a hub for conservation and outdoor-minded enthusiasts, visitors can walk the vast open meadow and into the forest, across the boardwalk and along Lake Gardner or up to Batchelder Park / Powow Hill. You may encounter equestrian users from nearby farms!

Community Garden
The Conservation Commission manages a Community Garden located next to the parking lot at 76 South Hampton Road. Visit in the summer and you'll find this area busy with gardeners tilling, planting, watering, weeding and harvesting their flowers and vegetables. Those interested in having a plot can download an application; plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis annually.

Lake Gardner Access
Battis Farm protects over a half mile of Lake Gardner's shoreline. A trail winds its way along the shoreline, allowing visitors to walk from Battis Farm to Lake Gardner Beach. Access Lake Gardner through the trail system or park at the Beach at 79 High Street.

Camp Kent
Just north of Battis Farm is the Camp Kent Environmental Center, which is City-owned and offers world-class summer day camps through Amesbury Recreation. A year-round caretaker is in residence. Access Camp Kent from the Battis Farm parking lot, walking north past the Community Garden.

• Dogs must be leashed at all times
• Please stay out of the Community Garden unless you have an approved plot 
• Watch for seasonal signs regarding parking from Amesbury Recreation
