I AMesbury 2030

I AMesbury 2030 master plan mock up with sample pages

It’s our pleasure to present the I AMesbury 2030 Master Plan (pronounced I Am Amesbury). Our Task Force has spent the last few years determining the elements of this plan, conducting research and community engagement including summits and surveys, listening session and pop-up events, and working with representatives from our departments, boards, and commissions to explore implementation.

The plan has officially been submitted to the Planning Board for their approval at the upcoming April 29, 2024, meeting. Once accepted, it will be utilized as a guide for city department heads and staff in their daily operations, budget planning, and long and short-term capital plans.

Update 4/29:

Mayor Gove created the I AMesbury 2030 task force to help our community plan for the future. This group is gathering community feedback, looking at our strengths and weaknesses and helping to determine where we collectively want Amesbury to be in the next 10 years.

I AMesbury 2030 is looking at every aspect of our community to make sure that we're moving forward with one vision. They are looking at 8 Elements: open space and recreation, learning and education, arts and culture, mobility, infrastructure, economic development, housing, and municipal operations. They are looking at all of these elements with three lenses top of mind: equity, health, and resilience / sustainability. These three key areas are an important consideration to incorporate into every aspect of the 2030 plan.

"I call Amesbury the City of Innovators, and I want us to carry this tradition forward with I AMesbury 2030. I want us to think outside the box about our future, I want us to be ready to pivot and adjust no matter what comes our way, and I want our community to be strong, cohesive and resilient." - Mayor Kassandra Gove
